Islands in the Sky hasn't been released yet. Right now this website and its email waitlist are the only things we run, so that's all this page covers. When the app launches we'll publish a full privacy policy for it here, before anyone is asked to sign in.
What the waitlist stores
When you join the waitlist we keep:
- Your email address, so we can tell you when the app is ready.
- Which link brought you here (for example, the link in one of our social profiles), so we know which of our posts people actually like.
- When you signed up.
- A one-way hash of your browser's user-agent string, which tells us roughly what mix of devices people use. We don't keep the user-agent itself.
- A salted one-way hash of your IP address, used only to stop one network from flooding the list. We don't keep the IP address itself.
How we use it
Only to email you about Islands in the Sky: the launch, and possibly an invitation to try an early version. We won't sell your email, share it with advertisers, or add you to anything else. Every email we send will include a way to unsubscribe.
Visit counts
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which sites send people here. It sets no cookies and doesn't follow you across other websites.
What we don't do
This site sets no cookies and runs no ads or third-party trackers.
Where it lives
The site and the waitlist are hosted on Cloudflare, in the United States. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data (such as your IP address) to deliver and protect the site.
Getting off the list
Unsubscribe from any email we send, or ask us to delete your entry and we will. For privacy requests or questions, email hello@joinislandsinthesky.com.
